Why I’m taking part in Veganuary

I know, I’m not generally someone who joins in with these month-long pledges to give something up. But this year is different. I love food. I am meat eater. I’ve butchered meat. I cook with offal. Cheese is awesome. I don’t think it’s wrong to eat meat, nor do I believe that anyone should be judged for their food choices. However, I do think that we should be more aware of where our food comes from and I also think that perhaps we should make an effort to eat a little less meat, not just… View Post

New Year’s Life Update

First of all, a Happy New Year to everyone! I have been quiet on the blogging front recently. I have a list of things that I want to write about, but recently life just keeps getting in the way. I am not really one for making New Year’s Resolutions (kudos if you are) as I believe that a resolution can and should be made at any time. That all being said, one of my main goals for the upcoming months is to get my blog back on track. Write more, read more, tidy it all… View Post

Active Travel: Brighton

Post in collaboration with Original Cottages There aren’t many cities cooler than Brighton. It’s full of quirky shops, great places to eat, a stunning sea front, and a wonderful atmosphere. Your time doesn’t matter. I’m a member of countless Facebook running groups, all of them supportive and inclusive. All runners are celebrated and from 3 hour marathon runners to 60 minute 5k finishers, everyone is applauded for their achievements. Running is a very… View Post

On being pushy and knowing when to …

We visited Newark junior parkrun a lot of the summer. It’s brilliant fun and Rose enjoyed taking part. However, the last couple of times we visited, she completed it more under sufferance than enjoyment. This is nothing to do with the awesome team at Newark and more to do with just being four years old. With being in Estonia, then Brighton, then hen do, then meetings, and then the small matter of an election campaign, we haven’t made it back there in many weeks. However, Rose had started asking if we could go because she… View Post
