Get real results with a personal trainer!

So you want to get fit, lose weight and look good? Who doesn’t? Lots of people are really good at this. They get up, go to the gym, do their daily yoga/ pilates/ yogalates and, whilst working up a sweat, they also manage to stick to a ridiculously difficult ‘diet’. It makes you want to eat a double cheese burger just thinking about it! Not everyone is good at sticking to a hardcore regime, however, and, in order for them to get the most out of working out, they need someone to stand over them, pushing them to finish every rep.

The good news is, this is the kind of encouragement you’ll get when you decide to work with a personal trainer. You’ll find personal trainers in every good gym. Some work freelance and some are employed solely by the gym but there’s definitely no shortage of qualified guys and gals who are ready and waiting to help you reach your physical peak.  The thing to remember is that whoever you choose to work with it is very important to ensure that they are a certified personal trainer. Most personal training qualifications are accredited through awarding bodies like CYQ (Central YMCA Qualifications), Active IQ (Active International Qualifications) and City and Guilds. Don’t be afraid to talk to your personal trainer about their training and its relevance to you. When you pay for a personal session it can cost anything from £40 to £150 per hour so you have every right to quiz them. Although the price is steep the results can far outweigh the cost. So many people waste money every year trying to get fit with unused gym membership and unused equipment. When you have a session with your trainer you have no choice but to make the most of your investment.  Personal sessions ensure that you do each ‘move’ perfectly and that you do not take short-cuts.

Lots of people go to the gym, do a half hearted workout and then wonder why they’re not seeing any results. That’s because most of the time we need someone to really push us on. There’s also the danger of not doing the exercises properly. A personal trainer knows what you need and why and they will support and encourage you every step of the way. And when you slip into those brand new jeans without any difficulty you’ll know your sessions with your trainer have been worth every penny.

Thanks for the post. I cherish any sort of good pointers that I can discover, as I am currently searching for a brand-new private instructor. My old one wasn’t very good, so I am looking to hire a much better one the next time.
