We all know what it’s like to be tired at work and it’s so tempting to reach for the biscuit tin during that mid afternoon slump. But it’s much healthier to go for an option such as a banana, which is a slow-releasing energy source, or even make your own energy bars to keep in the office biscuit tin. I remember back in my days as a local authority worker, it was too easy to munch on a couple of chocolate digestives with a coffee during the afternoon. Now I am my own boss, I always make sure I have a bottle of water within reach and I routinely bring fruit into the office to enjoy instead. I’m also a hummus addict and love it with raw carrots.
