Hiking in the Alps with Quechua

If you’re a regular shopper in Decathlon, you may have heard of Quechua. One of Decathlon’s in-house brands, they are based at the foot of Mont Blanc in Sallanches, next door to the Decathlon Mountain Store. Surrounded by the glorious mountains, this is the perfect base for them to develop their hiking products, which are designed and tested in-house. Their head office is shared with Wed’ze, who were born from Quechua in 2007 and focus on ski and snowboarding activities.     Last month, along with some other bloggers, I was invited to spend a… View Post

Active Travel: Devon

Post in collaboration with Marsdens Devon Cottages Being a Cornish girl, it won’t surprise anyone that I’ve also spent a lot of time in Devon. My sister and her husband live in Teignmouth, my dad and my aunt both live near Exeter, many school trips took me north of the Tamar and I frequented the county during my junior bowling days in the South West Challenge. Needless to say, it’s a county that I know pretty well.     It’s also a great part of the country to visit for an active break with friends… View Post

Climbing Arthur’s Seat

I’m currently enjoying a couple of days in Edinburgh visiting a very dear friend of mine. It’s been a stressful few months and that combined with flu has meant that I haven’t been getting as much exercise as I’ve wanted to. Active Travel: Why I want to visit …

Post in collaboration with Original Cottages It’s a well-known fact that one of the most beautiful places in the UK is the Lake District. It’s also a well-known fact that this is the place to go if you’re looking for a domestic active break. Yet despite my yearning to visit, I have never actually been. Actually, I lie. I’ve changed National Express coach there when on an epic journey to Belfast from London. I’ve also visited Tebay Motorway Services. This is actually much more pleasant than it sounds as it is independently run and is… View Post

Active Travel: Norfolk

Post in collaboration with Original Cottages I haven’t been to Norfolk for a while, but I have some great memories of summer on the Broads, as well as Christmas breaks there. It’s a beautiful county, with so much to explore especially if like me, you’re a fan of the great outdoors. If you’re planning an active break there, you’ve chosen a great location!   Running Norfolk is flat. Really flat. So if you like to stretch your legs and run fast, this is a good place to do it. Running alongside the broads isn’t practical,… View Post
